CORRECTION: New Owner for Evergreen Scale Models

Published: May 25, 2012
Evergreen Models Inc., maker of staple hobby store products, including styrene sheets and shapes, is under new ownership.

Herb and Laura Rizzo of Chicago purchased the company in March from Don Ellerby, the son of Evergreen founder Brian Ellerby, who died in April 2010.

Rizzo is no stranger to hobbies, being a lifetime control-line and R/C flight enthusiast. He is also part owner of SIG Manufacturing.

He said the wheels are already in motion to bring back products that haven’t been in stock for some time as well as getting the rest of the line on store shelves. In addition, the company is looking to expand into other products.

Rizzo said he’s committed to helping retail hobby stores be successful, and products should be available by late summer or early fall. For more information, contact Cliff Nadolna, Evergreen’s director of operations, at 425-402-9818.

It was reported in incorrectly in the July issue of Model Railroader that the company had been sold to California Hobby Distributors. California Hobby, as well as other distributors, will be stocking the Evergreen line.

Excllent, I look forward to seeing new products. I love their basic products. A great addition would be to add building details such as dooors window in various styles, roof top vents, air conitioners, all with a high degree of molded in detail.

I had noticed over the last 2 years that smaller dimension strips were not avaialble. These a critical for N gague bridges/railing/structores/poles and loads. Will look forward to fuller product bins later this year, Thanks,
