Keith Edwards founded Micro-Trains Line Co. to focus on N scale and Z scale model trains

Keith Edwards was the founder of Micro-Trains Line Co., a manufacturer of N scale and Z scale model railroad products.

The founder of Micro-Trains Line Co., Keith Edwards, passed away on July 26, 2012, of natural causes at age 91. Along with his twin brother, Keith founded the original Kadee Quality Products Co. In 1990 he incorporated the Micro-Trains Line Co. to focus his time, interest, and resources on N and Z scale model trains. He and his brother also developed the Magne-Matic coupling system, which is used in every model railroading scale. Edwards retired in 2000.

"Keith inspired all of us at Micro-Trains with his selfless passion for the hobby and business," said Eric D. Smith, CEO/President of Micro-Trains Line Co., "Micro-Trains employees and his family will miss him so very much. Keith was a true pioneer in the world of model railroading."

Defifnately a loss to model railroading in general, and to N scale and HOn3 modelers in particular. The Micro Trains line he founded is the criteria for N scale equipment.

My sincere prayers and deepest sympathy go out to you at this time of sadness and loss. His loss leaves a large hole in the Model Railroad hobby family. He was truly a great man, an honored pioneer and we and our hobby are so much richer due to all he has done over the years. We are also honored by his dedication to keep everything "Made in the USA". As a Medford Senior High (Black Tornado) graduate I feel doubly attached to Mr. Edwards, his brother and their wonderful companies. God Bless and Keep.

For quality, reliability, and value, KADEE products have been and continue to be the standard in the model train world. Much of the credit for that goes to Mr. Edwards. Thanks to him and his family for everything he contributed to the hobby.
