World's Great Hobby on Tour has announced its next shows:

• Fort Worth, TX • January 5 & 6, 2013 - Will Rogers Memorial Center, Fort Worth, TX
• St. Louis, MO • January 12 & 13, 2013 - America's Center, St. Louis, MO
• San Diego, CA • February 9 & 10, 2013 - Del Mar Fairgrounds, Del Mar, CA
• Sacramento, CA • February 23 & 24, 2013 - CAL-EXPO, Sacramento, CA

The World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour is a model railroad show designed to introduce the general
public to the hobby in an exciting, family-oriented atmosphere. Each show includes manufacturers,
hobby shops, operating displays, interactive activities, workshops and provides an in-person
introduction to the World’s Greatest Hobby: model railroading.

Since these model train  shows began in December of 2004 over 950,000 people have attended. For most of these people it was their first experience with model railroading. These shows broaden the
exposure model railroading receives among the general public.

In the first quarter of 2010, the World’s Greatest Hobby set a record with over 41,000 people
attending the model train show in Washington, DC. This is the largest number of people ever to attend a model railroad show.

I will be attending my first one in Fort Worth, TX and am looking forward to it greatly. Some of the guys from my club are going and we are going to car pool. The distance for us will be around 120 miles each way. So for those of you that have a long way to go to attend one of these shows you might try and find other interested parties at your local club, hobby shop, or even try a posting on this site to locate some traveling companions.

Completely missing the east coast - what gives? Didn't the Washington, DC numbers give any indication of the demand and potential growth here in the 'colonies'?
