Railroad Prototype Modelers Meet to be held this summer

The Railroad Prototype Modelers meet will be held in the St. Louis Metro - East area
The 5th St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modelers (RPM) meet will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011, and Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the Gateway Convention Center (One Gateway Drive, Collinsville, IL 62234). Collinsville is 12 miles east of metro St. Louis on I-55/70. The meet hours are 9AM to 10PM on both days.

All scales and gauges are welcome.  Locomotives, rolling stock, and structures that pertain to model railroading are welcome in any phase of completion.  In recent meets, of the attendees, over 250 of them brought over 1100 models to display on over 50 tables at the Center. There are no contests or awards.  Our purpose is to share information, present your best modeling techniques, and meet your fellow modelers.  The display area will cover over 10,000 sq. ft.

In addition to model displays, presentations by nationally recognized modelers, presenters, and historians are scheduled throughout the two day event.  Historical societies and a select group of local and national vendors will also be in attendance.  A pre-RPM social / operating session is planned and an operating FreeMO layout will be on display.

Admission is $20.00 for Friday and Saturday, $15.00 for Saturday only.  Kids under 13 are free with paid adult admission.  Vendor set up is 7:15 a.m. Friday.  Sales end at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Contact John Golden at Golden1014@yahoo.com , (618)624-8033, Dan Kohlberg at paducah@mindspring.com , or Lonnie Bathurst at bathurst@litchfieldil.com , (217) 556 0314 for meet information.  The Gateway Center website is http://www.gatewaycenter.com/.
