In memoriam: Model Railroader author David L. Waddington

David L. Waddington, whose stories and scale drawings appeared in Model Railroader and other hobby publications from the 1940s through the 2000s, died May 12 in Orleans, Mass.

David worked as an electrical engineer for General Electric and was an avid traction modeler and skilled draftsman. He wrote several dozen stories, many with drawings, for Model Railroader. Most of his work dealt with traction and electric locomotives. He was a charter member of the Bay State Model Railroad Museum in Massachusetts.
